I been a bit busy lately, hence the lack of posts. But to fund this hobby,eg:the computer, electric, rent(on the flat) etc.I have to participate in that four letter word,WORK!.It's been mad!.
Anyway i have the day off today,so(with a hang over)i thought i would reward all the readers of this blog by giving you some,'useful information'.
I used to(especially on a day off)get the odd, cold call from someone trying to sell me something;and not actually admitting this fact. They would start by saying "hello this is not a sales call".....Bo****ks,of course it is(in a round about('waisting your time sort of way ).So,before i found a way of getting them to stop permanently, i would have a bit of fun with them by telling them that "i've just got to do something,i'll speak to you in a minute";then i would put the phone's receiver down and not go back to it for ages. When i did,the cold caller had hung up;which is against company policy by the way:A cold caller must not hang up on the customer!.
Ok this is all a bit sad and puerile, and could be deemed a trivial triumph of Mr Cock-a-hoop;and of course someone who is not a cold caller might want to contact you.So the cold caller gets the last laugh.
If you want to stop any cold calling organization from contacting your landline or mobile, all you have to do is register with the Telephone Preference Service(TPS) via their website,http://www.tpsonline.org.uk/tps/ .It is quick and easy to register, and the TPS is genuine and safe(i've registered). So here are the details below, explaining what they are all about.
The Telephone Preference Service (TPS) is a central opt out register whereby individuals can register their wish not to receive unsolicited sales and marketing telephone calls. It is a legal requirement that companies do not make such calls to numbers registered on the TPS.
The original legislation was introduced in May 1999. It has subsequently been updated and now the relevant legislation is the Privacy and Electronic (EC Directive) Regulations 2003.
Who can register?
The term individual includes consumers at their residential address, sole traders and, except in Scotland, partnerships.
How long will it take to become effective?
Once a number has been registered it will become effective in 28 days.
Is there any charge for registering?
No, it's free to register on the TPS.
Who pays for TPS?
No money is received from the Government to run the Service, the direct marketing industry pays for it.
