Monaco GP 2008 : Lewis Hamilton takes victory.

Lewis Hamilton has won his first Monaco GP.It didn't look as though the British ace would even finish at first, when in treacherous conditions due to a rain soaked start - and after getting past Raikkonen when the lights went out - Lewis slammed into the Barrier puncturing the drivers side rear tire.The incident happened on lap six as Hamilton was chasing down race leader Massa into the high-speed Tabac corner.Hamilton fans had there hearts in there mouths as Lewis limped back to the pits, his car snapping and twitching through the remaining corners.Luckily there was no suspension damage and the pit crew filled the car to the brim with fuel and put on a new set of tires.Hamilton came out in fourth place behind his rivals and then drove the race of his life, taking advantage of Raikkonen who basically made a pigs ear of the race having to drive into the pits for a drive through penalty, which was earned by the team not changing his tires before the allotted time allowed before the race start.Then Massa out braked himself into ste-devote allowing a charging Kubica to take the lead.Lewis ironically could now stay out longer than the front runners and managed to pit 37 seconds ahead of Massa and Kubica (who had stopped a few laps before and were now not as fast as Lewis) and then get out in the lead on dry tires, which now suited the drying track to go for the win.There was a safety car incident near the end coursed by home-boy Nico Rosburg crashing into the barrier.This meant the gaps to Hamilton, Kubica, Massa closed but the possitions remained to the end.Lewis first, Kubica taking a fantastic second and Massa third.Raikkonen continued to mess up after his drive through, braking a front wing twice; the second time hitting the back of Sutil in the 4th placed Force India knocking the poor driver out of the race and out of his first points for the back mark team.Raikkonen pitted for another new wing but finished ninth and out of the points.This means Hamilton now heads the driver championship over the Fin by three points.
